Vhavenda Hills offers clean, safe, friendly and affordable Bed & Breakfast accommodation in the very heart of Soweto, South Africa's largest and most famous township.

Vhavenda Hills has been awarded AA Grading as well as 3 Stars from the South African Tourism and Grading Council.

Our BnB is situated in the Vilakazi precinct in Orlando West, a suburb of Soweto known as "The Wild West" during the apartheid years.

Today, Orlando West is a vibrant, culturally-rich, exciting destination which offers numerous restaurants, traditional shebeens (bars) and sites of historic significance.

Walking tours can be arranged to the Hector Pietersen Memorial Square, the Nelson Mandela museum and nearby Vilakazi Street, world famous for once being home to two Nobel Peace Price Winners: former President Nelson Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

Vhavenda Hills BnB is run by Catherine Luthaga, a long-time resident of Soweto. Her husband, David, was born and grew up in the property, which they converted to a Bed & Breakfast over 10 years ago.

David started and still runs his own tour company, Vhupo Tours, which offers an excellent variety of half-day, day and multi-day trips covering Soweto, Johannesburg, Gauteng and beyond. David also offers Airport Transfers, which means all your needs can be catered for in one place: your transport, your accommodation, your meals and your entertainment!
